More than 2.4 million elderly and disabled people with Medicare receive care from over 8,100 Medicare-certified home health agencies throughout the United States. There are 36 Medicare-certified agencies in New Hampshire, plus several more certified in neighboring states that also deliver care in New Hampshire.

Home health care is provided by a variety of professionals in your home. Services can include skilled nursing care, physical and occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, medical social work, and assistance from a home health aide.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have adopted a set of 11 home health quality measures on which every Medicare-certified home health agency in the country reports. All of the data is collected and analyzed and then posted on Home Health Compare. This website is one source of information about the health care outcomes agencies have achieved for their patients.
